The 5th International Workshop on Multi-Rate Processes and Hysteresis (MURPHYS-2010) will be held at Pollack Mihaly Faculty of Engineering, University of Pecs, Hungary on the occasion that Pecs is the Cultural Capital of Europe in 2010. The workshop is organised in cooperation with University College Cork, Ireland. The previous Workshops were held at University College Cork, Ireland.

This workshop continues the series of the workshops
  1. Relaxation Oscillations and Hysteresis 2002,
    see http://www.ucc.ie/ucc/depts/physics/ins/roh2002.htm and
  2. Hysteresis and Multi-Scale Asymptotics 2004,

The aim of the 5th International Workshop on Multi-Rate Processes and Hysteresis (MURPHYS-2010) is intended to be a forum for presentation and discussion of the most recent advancements in the fields of multi-rate processes, hysteresis and computational technologies. Continuing with the tradition of the previous Workshops, MURPHYS-2010 has a strong interdisciplinary character. The aim is to bring together scientists with a wide range of backgrounds and interests (physicists, mathematicians, engineers, and informatics) to exchange ideas, methods, and results. Although special emphasis will be on multi-rate processes and hysteresis, there will be sessions in the program focused on the universal aspects of nonlinearity and computational technologies, independently of its origin. The scientific program of the 4-day Workshop will consist of several talks by keynote speakers, and large number of contributed talks, organized along thematic sessions.
